The Buried Life

MTV has a new show called Buried Life ( I am not an avid MTV watcher at all but for this I will make an exception) it is about 4 guys who have this mission to complete 100 things before they die. With every item they complete they help someone else complete an item off of their list.

Tonight's episode: Make a toast at a strangers wedding..they did it..hilarious! As they were suit shopping they met this guy who was a painter and had been left by his wife taking their 2 year old son with her, and his goal was to meet his son again before he died....and they made it happen! How awesome can you get?!

Just Check it....

Or look at there stuff on MTV.com

So why is this show so epic? Besides being amazing, I have decided I am going to create a list of 100 activities I want to do before I die and try to complete them all! Once I get my list I will be sure to post it. As of right now it is currently in production mode...to be continued later.

With this list my main goal is to do exactly as these 4 boys are doing, help someone else complete something they want to do before they die or just improve their life in some way. Lately I have talked to a lot of people who are not happy with where they are in life because of not doing something they have always wanted to or just not living up to their full potential. I do not want to be this person I want to be able to show my kids and grandchildren (when they come) that I did something I wanted to do and made a difference.

My two targets I want to hit as I check off my list:

1. Mom has always wanted a violin and the opportunity to learn to to play.

2. Grandma has always wanted to go on a cruise before she dies.

So here goes starting tonight I am creating my list and starting out, it of course will not consume my life since I have other goals like graduating, getting married, starting a family, opening a restaurant and other dandy things I strive for but I think it will help and be fun!

What are some crazy or just fun aspirations you have wanted to do before you die? Do you know anyone who has some they are trying to accomplish but have not yet?

Wish me luck! I encourage my whole 2 readers ( 1 being myself) to try and create a list. Lori I know your in!

Fear...

Once upon a time a whole whopping 9 years ago I was 10 years old and doing gymnastics and cheer..... One day during open gym my coach was working directly with me on getting a front handspring into the foam pit, push came to shove...literally and I ended up hurting my neck crying in the ball pit. From then on out I have been deathly afraid of tumbling and went through cheer leading not being a tumbler, just a flier.

Fast forward 9 years in the future.....
Today I walked into a gym that looked somewhat like this and begin my first gymnastics class since I was 10. Luckily I did not have a panic attack or any other serious calamity while in my class. I actually had a lot of fun I was really nervous but I got over it and was able to practice my round offs and started doing handstands (I have never been able to do those). soo... moral of the story, face your fears it may be fun aaaannnddddddd I plan on learning a back handspring before I graduate, I will let you know how that goes.
As for Spring semester.. it has started out very busy with applications and a full 18 credit schedule as well as Robins Awards planning, presidents cabinet, and HASS council. I am also a TA for public speaking and do 2 labs for it so far I am absolutely in love with it and would be a TA forever if I could.

To be old...

There was this son who was 58 and had back surgery recently. He had to use a walker until he got through the healing process. One day as he was hobbling to the couch he sat down out of breath and got a phone call from he 90 year old father. He immediately could tell something was wrong because his dad was panting and out of breath. Here is how the conversation went:

Son: "dad is everything alright? you sound like you cant breathe what can i do whats up?"

Dad:" O I am just fine son I'm just at the Y running on the treadmill."

this man is 90 years old and my Idol I cant even run on a treadmill for very long its just amazing I hope when I turn 90 I can race all my other 90 year old friends on our treadmills that is my goal to work up to. I cant say I am overly excited to reach this age, even though its a ways off, but I must say I will try to be the best 90 year old out there just the like 2 I met today that are amazing! (p.s. this is not them in the picture just a good picture)

Also my new years resolution given to my by a very wise man:
